This map shows the growing number of residents and councils who are helping to enable children to play out more. We add information to it when we know of activity happening on streets and in neighbourhoods.

You can find out what’s happening where you live and see whether there are others doing things locally who are happy to give you support and advice. Our Local Authority Directory lists the areas where most change is happening. If you are already doing something on your street and it’s not yet on the map, please email us to let us know.

Residents in Stockport can apply for a temporary street play order to close their street for kids to play.  You can read the guidance notes here and download an application form  The policy was introduced in June 2013 and Manchester Evening News reported on it.

We haven’t been in touch with any streets using this policy and would love to hear from any that are.
