This map shows the growing number of residents and councils who are helping to enable children to play out more. We add information to it when we know of activity happening on streets and in neighbourhoods.

You can find out what’s happening where you live and see whether there are others doing things locally who are happy to give you support and advice. Our Local Authority Directory lists the areas where most change is happening. If you are already doing something on your street and it’s not yet on the map, please email us to let us know.

Residents of Waltham Forest can apply to close their streets regularly for play.  The scheme was launched in July 2013 – you can read the coverage in the Waltham Forest Guardian

You can read about one resident’s experience of setting up play streets via  Waltham Forest Cycling Campaign and also download copies of an application form and copy of a sample letter provided by the council.
