Playing Out began as a creative intervention on a street in Bristol. We still work with artists and other creative practitioners to engage the public’s imagination about street play and related issues.
Children of a Bristol infant school were challenged to change the space outside their front door with a competition.

Hartcliffe Safer Streets 2017
Room 13 Hareclive children from Hartcliffe, South Bristol, are calling for safer streets from speeding traffic so they can play out more. Doing research in their school, making their own film, hosting an event, marching – children are turning their concerns and ideas into action and change. Read more about their hard work.
Bristol Library Exhibition - October 2014
Join in with activities and events as part of a month-long exhibition by Playing Out in Bristol’s Central Library. The launch event on Saturday 11th Oct will combine craft activities for children, the chance to bring food and share in an urban picnic and an opportunity to scoot, chalk or play in Deanery Road which will be closed to traffic for the day.
