See how the street play movement is growing across the UK.
Find out what’s happening where you live and if there are streets already playing out. We know that there are many active streets not listed here so please let us know of anything you are doing so we can add it to the map. You can also check our Local Authority Directory to see if your council has a street play policy yet.
As of June 2019, over 45 streets have played out in North Tyneside!
You can find out more about how to apply and get involved via the council site here.
Street Play Sessions in North Tyneside are now being facilitated by Play.Meet.Street North Tyneside who say,
“With enormous thanks to Emma and Diane, who have worked so hard on this and supported us in our own efforts to play out in our own streets, Lynsey, Jane and Alison – are taking on the challenge of street play in North Tyneside.
The three of us have been organising street play sessions on our streets (in Cullercoats, Whitley Bay and North Shields) for over a year and are very keen to support others who want to do the same. We’re just beginning but hope to really get this going over the coming months and years.”
We really love these films made by the council to promote play streets in the area!
