See how the street play movement is growing across the UK.

Find out what’s happening where you live and if there are streets already playing out. We know that there are many active streets not listed here so please let us know of anything you are doing so we can add it to the map. You can also check our Local Authority Directory to see if your council has a street play policy yet.

What’s happening in Suffolk?

Various individuals and community groups are working hard to get Playing Out happening in Suffolk, and the council are working with them on a pilot scheme to launch in 2020.

There is a local Facebook page called Suffolk Play Streets that you can follow for more information and updates.

Ann Osborn from Rural Coffee Caravan and Sally Connick from Community Action Suffolk jointly organised an information session about Play Streets in July 2019 attended by around 30 local residents and community activists. Herts Playing Out Activator Rob Schafer shared his experience and a local Steering Group was formed.

Bury St Edmunds local councillor Donna Higgins recently got in touch to offer support and is happy to be contacted by anyone interested at donnahiggins.lab@gmail.com.

East Suffolk District Council are working closely with Suffolk Country Council to develop a policy and encourage growth of Play Streets in Suffolk. Contact Andrew.Jolliffe@eastsuffolk.gov.uk for more information.
