See how the street play movement is growing across the UK
We’re adding a pin for every area where parents, residents, a community organisation or the council (and ideally, all of them together) are starting to change things for children through play streets and related ideas. The movement is growing! See what’s happening near you by entering the name of your local authority (council) in the box below. Tell us if you want to get something started in your area – or if there’s anything to add to our map!
What’s happening in this area?
Currently we don’t know of anything that people or the local authority are actively doing in this area so that children can play out more in the places where they live. But if you do know of anything, we’d love to hear about it.
What’s happening in Welwyn?
If you live in the Welwyn Hatfield area, street closures are dealt with by Hertfordshire county council.
Hertfordshire County Council has agreed a pilot of monthly playing out session on a street in Tring. This has now been running for a number of years. We are really keen for other streets to apply so that a county wide application policy can be formalised.
