See how the street play movement is growing across the UK

We’ve added a pin for every area where parents, residents, a community organisation or the council (and ideally, all of them together) are starting to change things for children through play streets and related ideas. The movement is growing! See what’s happening near you by entering the name of your local authority (council) in the box below. For more support on play streets and to connect with the play streets movement see our Support for play streets page.

Please note: these pages were last updated in summer 2024.

What’s happening in Arun?

There is lots of playing out activity taking place in other districts in West Sussex, particularly Adur and Worthing and Chichester.

Currently we’re not aware of any specific action that people or the local authority are taking in Arun to support children playing out, but you can link up with others here and get support.

However there is a street party application process you could use to pilot a one off session, click here for more information on the council website. You could contact the officer responsible to discuss playing out on: [email protected] or 01903 737920.

If you live in the area and want to get things started in Arun see here for tips on how to get your council on board.
