During 2013, Ealing trialled its first playing out sessions with the closure of one street and following its success, introduced a policy to make it simple for residents to organise. By July 2015 there were 17 streets closing for playing out sessions. You can read about play streets in action in Ealing in this article from Around Ealing.
Ealing’s resident led play streets scheme means that people living in the borough can apply for monthly road closures to enable children to play out safely in their streets.
You can read about how to apply here on the Ealing Council website. The council will provide residents with a box of useful equipment to get your playing out sessions going. There is an Ealing Play Streets Facebook group you can join too! London Play can also offer support.
