See how the street play movement is growing across the UK

We’ve added a pin for every area where parents, residents, a community organisation or the council (and ideally, all of them together) are starting to change things for children through play streets and related ideas. The movement is growing! See what’s happening near you by entering the name of your local authority (council) in the box below. For more support on play streets and to connect with the play streets movement see our Support for play streets page.

Please note: these pages were last updated in summer 2024.

What’s happening in Norwich?

Thanks to a wonderful group of residents from Car Free Norwich campaigning for play streets in Norfolk, in Spring 2021 the county council have created a brand new play streets application process!

See the link here to apply or visit play streets Norfolk to find out about all the support and guidance on offer!

You can join the local Norfolk Playing Out facebook group to connect up with other local play street organisers.

There are a number of streets that have held regular playing out sessions in Norwich – you can read a report from 2013 in the Eastern Daily Press.

Lumi a local organisation, has a great list of resources available to residents for closing street, for play and parties, with links and helpful info.

Link up with others and get support.
