The Atlantic! We may be able to help with free road closure kit, or play street kit (hi-vis, chalk, skipping ropes etc).
We want all children to be able to play out and for everyone to put on a play street if they want to. We understand that this can be more difficult when people are facing extra barriers.
For this reason Sport England have provided Playing Out with some funding for play and road closure kits. These kits aim to support play street related activity in areas where people may be facing additional barriers to playing out.*
These barriers could include (but not be limited to):
This fund is available to individuals, small groups, and any size of organisation.
*If you already have funding, you can simply buy the kits direct from our shop (we get 10% of sales to support our non-profit work)

How to apply
Very simple reporting
In exchange for the road closure kit we will be in contact in the Autumn with a short survey for you to complete, so that we can learn how useful the kit was. We would also love to see and use photos (with permissions) of what you get up to.
The road closure equipment is only to be used to close roads with the proper legal approval and permits in place. Learn more about applying to the council here.
The funded kits include road closure signage, an ‘open for play’ sign and the contents of our Playing Out play streets kit bags (image above).

We’re very grateful to our funders Sport England for funding us to provide free kit to the residents who will get the most benefit from it!
