Setting up your play street scheme

You’ve got the green light from relevant decision makers to make your play street policy happen. What next?

The really essential thing to remember is that play streets are, as far as possible, resident-led. The aim of your policy should be to remove barriers and make it quick, easy, accessible and safe for people to make this happen on their own streets. Then look at how to ensure support for residents who might need it. Our Local Area Model explains play streets in one area as a system that needs attention to all the different parts for it to succeed and take off.
